For those wondering what the book holds, let me share this secret: If you want to get a glimpse into an author’s heart and work, read the foreword. My dear friend, mentor, and supervisor, Dr. Heidi Heron, has written the foreword for The Gift. Her words moved me deeply, and I’m honoured to share them with you today.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tabatha Kattau was raised in Bellbird, New South Wales, Australia. She was fostered at six months of age by a woman who modelled sincerity, generosity, patience, and integrity—qualities that have profoundly shaped Tabatha’s approach to life and now permeate her work as a therapist. This early influence inspires her deep commitment to helping others navigate their emotional struggles with compassion and understanding.

Tabatha’s early career was dedicated to people-focused roles, particularly in leadership and Human Resources, where the dynamics of how people worked—or struggled to work—together intrigued her. Driven to find a way to improve these dynamics, she developed the Collaboration Eco-System Model, designed to help not just teams, but also families and even society work better together. After having the model literature reviewed by the Business Faculty of Newcastle University, Tabatha realised that in order to truly foster collaboration, she needed to start with the individual—understanding what motivates their behaviour at its core.

This realisation led her on a deeper journey of self-exploration, and she soon discovered the profound impact of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Through NLP, she found her true calling as a therapist, where she helps individuals unlock the hidden wisdom within their anxiety and emotional challenges.

Tabatha’s personal and professional experiences inspired the creation of the CALM model, a simple yet powerful framework to guide people through their anxiety and back to a place of balance. Her book, The Gift: Unfolding the Hidden Wisdom of Your Anxiety, is built upon this model, offering readers the same compassionate, therapeutic guidance that her clients experience.

Tabatha is deeply passionate about making recovery from anxiety and therapy accessible to everyone, especially those who cannot afford it or don’t feel ready for formal therapy. Her hope is that The Gift will be available in libraries, allowing anyone with a library card to access healing and begin their journey to recovery without financial barriers.

While continuing her practice in Singleton, Tabatha works with clients both domestically and internationally through online sessions, making her expertise accessible to people around the world. Drawing on her rich life experience and professional insights, she inspires those seeking healing, with the belief that we can all move from anxiety to calm with the right tools and support.
